Alabama hotel you feel welcomed like a human being. almost like a old friend from high school who might of thought you were a bit weird but are happy to see you , the owners and staff are very genuine people. not one for up market hotels myself or being called sir or using a fancy swipe card ...comes across a bit pretentious or fake to me ... none of which you willl find at the Alabama hotel . I even rocked up a day early ( forgot to finalise the booking) and got upgraded to a nice room even though I felt like a bit of a goose . comfy beds to recuperate on lost sleep after enjoying a few social drinks over a few days in Hobart town . nice looking dogs wandering around adds to the atmosphere as a chilled environment. I think a few scratches doesn't go unnoticed. I love Hobart more than my former girlfriends except Hobart probly wouldn't leave me for an accountant but that's another story , I visit regularly for many of Tasmanias natural wonders and I can't say I would stay anywhere else when I wander into the bright lights, after a stint out in the wilderness to use their shower and look at some cool local art work on my way there. great food and many places nearby to have a social drink or fifteen , plus there's a balcony you can sit on and think about life or that beautiful southern island woman you miss, or how large the short tailed shearwater rafts are and sip a cup of nice coffee or a drink of water or alcoholic beverage to the background music which sets the mood . happy hour is on daily why not treat yourself . great times at the Alabama hotel .

I loved the ambience of this lovely hotel. The walls are adorned with original art works and the decor is dabbled with quirky additions to keep you smiling (flamingos in the stair well, teddies on the bar). The positive vibes are enhanced by chatting with the staff. They are all lovely engaging and fun people. I travelled in winter - the rooms were very warm and the showers were hot. The shared bathrooms were old fashioned in styling but nicely appointed, clean and within close proximity to most rooms. Plus the cocktails served at the bar/reception were divine - 10/10 for the Negroni!

Great hotel in a super convenient location. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and the shared bathrooms are always super clean. The best part however is the bar which is super social and well priced. The staff are friendly, the vibe is very chill and laid back, and the bar was busy throughout the afternoon - often with more locals than guests which made it easy to meet people and see more of what the city has to offer if you’re outgoing. Overall amazing place to spend your time in Hobart, especially as a solo traveller or if you want a more social spot to stay.

Cozy and beautiful room. Shared toilet and shower room are clean, especially the ladies shower rooms at level 2 which are big, with shower screen and separate dry area. The hotel location is good, lot of restaurants/ eateries nearby and Woolworths is just within 5 minutes walking distance. Walking distance to Salamanca market. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Nice latte and tea from the bar at Level 1. Beautiful and cute dog, it always quietly stay by itself even when the guests walk past.

Extremely professional and understanding staff especially when it was my human error. Location perfect, I had the best sleep first night, really enjoyed the lounge area meeting lovely people, felt comfortable and relaxed. Really like seeing the dogs inside and interesting Artwork and Decor. Delicious Lattes and amazing hospitality, Emma the Manager. Lovley place to bring my daughter in law Junji.
